Soundway Records Radio Show
The Soundway Records label pops up in my collection more than almost any other. The quality of the tunes they select, the mastering (largely courtesy of the master Frank Merrit) and the sleeve designs are always on point. The show was broadcast live in the Musicbox Radio Studio on St Johns Street in London.
This show has been an opportunity to bring together artists and styles from all over Africa in one show (as opposed to my usual country by country theme). The music comes from all over the continent from the Gambia to Kenya, Ghana to DRC. I’ve also included international artists who produce some incredible African music like Ibibio Sound Machine and The Busy Twist.
