My first ever gig and the Cheeser! I saw Baka Beyond at 23 Bath Street last year and then played after them at the wonderful Connect festival near Bath. They are AMAZING - such good vibes and incredible musicians. Martin and Su who started the band (over 30 years ago!) have spent a lot of time with the Baka Pygmies in Cameroon, and you can really hear the vocal style and groove from that tradition.
They are bringing their full 7-piece band with them and the vibes are gonna be high. I’ll be doing warm up and a wee dance after the band too. Grab a ticket, stick it in the diary and I will see you at the Cheese and Grain for an Afro-Celtic ho-down!
